This bill imposes new limitations on benefits for pregnant women and children who meet certain income and immigration status requirements. The majority of CUT votes no on this bill. While we appreciate the intent of this bill, and the possible $24M saved to taxpayers in future years, we also recognize the negative consequences from this legislation. Colorado taxpayers will still pay the loss of matching federal funds for illegal immigrants, while legal residents will take a huge hit in previously provided health care benefits. We suggest the sponsors go back to the drawing board.
